5 Books I’m Excited For (July 2023)

Oh, we’re halfway there…and living on a prayer is generous. Living on a stack of TBR books and an unfinished to-do list.

Here are five books I’m excited about releasing in July 2023! Have you placed your pre-orders or holds yet?

Buzzing: A Graphic Novel by Samuel Sattin and Rye Hickman

This graphic novel popped up on my Edelweiss catalog, and I was immediately intrigued! Always trying to read more upper MG/lower YA graphic novels and ones dealing with mental health especially.

A Lady’s Guide to Scandal by Sophie Irwin

I loved Irwin’s last book–it was even a pick when I was on the Alex Awards–so I’m pre-ordering this one and shelving it for a rainy day when I need some Regency swoon and Irwin’s signature smart sassy writing.

Ghosted by Amanda Quain

LOVE Accomplished, because Boarding Schools, obviously, and excited for this one! I’ve only read Northanger Abbey once, but the vibe is still lurking. Can’t wait to see what this DMV-local author unlocks with this one.

The St. Ambrose School for Girls by Jessica Ward

Like I said…boarding schools are my bread and butter in literature. A good boarding school mystery/murder/historical setting? I’m there. Hold already placed on this one! Also that GORGEOUS pink cover, right?

The Legend of Greyhallow by Summer Rachel Short

I’ve never read Lord of the Rings, let’s be honest, but this middle grade fantasy looks FUN. There’s “traces” of a famous film all over this small town and I love that element of blending pop culture with real life, and then you throw in a magical portal and I’m sold, though I’m hopeful this won’t devolve into like a whole trilogy because I don’t have time for that.

What books ae you most excited about coming out this month?
