This isn’t healthy. I understand it’s almost September, which is almost 2025…but it’s also very much NOT. And there are so many 2024 titles I still want to read and look forward to..let alone all the backlist on my brain. So tell me WHY am I thinking nonstop about some of these 2025 titles….
The Cartoonists Club (April 1, 2025)
New Raina! Literally I have been waiting for new Raina for YEARS. And at ALA I MET HER accidentally mostly and told her how excited I was for this one, and now I can’t wait to read it.
Bat and the Business of Ferrets (February 11, 2025)
I loved the Bat trilogy when I read it a few years back, and I really enjoy Elana K Arnold’s books, so when I saw a FOURTH Bat book in the catalog, I was over the moon.
If We Were a Movie (April 22, 205)
Zakiya and I interned at Simon & Schuster together back in like 2018, so seeing her publishing dreams come true with a fun YA title has me dancing around the room.
Wild Dark Shore (March 4, 2025)
I loved Charlotte McConaghy’s wolf book, and have thought about her a lot over the past year, so to see a new 2025 title featuring a remote island and a lil murder? Woo!
Silverborn: The Mystery of Morrigan Crow (June 24, 2025)
Bruh…this is the last time I’m getting excited for this book, which was originally slated for like 2022 publication. But I want to love this series and keep that love…so I’ll keep my lantern burning for it.
Rebellion 1776 (April 1, 2025)
A new Laurie Halse Anderson book set during the Revolution? You know my DAR heart is POUNDING. I cannot wait to read this one…which has also been delayed a few times. The publisher told me Laurie just loves a good research moment, haha.
Sunrise on the Reaping (March 18, 2025)
If you’re not excited for the new Hunger Games book…you’re not a woman of a certain age. This is another one I have CLEARED MY CALENDAR for. Cancel the classes, I’ve got reading to do!
