It’s been SOOOO long since I let myself pre-order hardcopies of books with abandon. I was on award committees four years in a row, I am an avid library user, and frankly, who has the time to stay up to date with adult books when you’re knee deep in picture books? This year though…this year I am TREATING myself with pre-orders, even though I have access to a ton of ARCs digitally.
Does that mean I may end up cancelling these pre-orders if I end up reading an ARC earlier? Maybe, but maybe not! I’m not prioritizing reading these UNTIL the hardcopies come out, but let’s see if I can wait for some of these…
March 4th: Worst Wish Ever by Wanda Coven
I got weirdly into the Heidi Heckelbeck books last year, and I can’t wait to see what happens next in this middle grade series! I’ll read it in one afternoon, hopefully, and then add it to my school library.
March 4th: Mallory and the Trouble with Twins (BSC #17) by Arley Nopra
I always pre-order the new BSC graphic novels and won’t be stopping anytime soon, let’s be honest. Thankfully they’re quick reads!
March 18th: Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins
Am I over the moon excited for how I will simply sink into this story and let it devour me? YES!
April 1st: Karen’s Prize (BSC LS #10) by Shauna Grant
Always excited for a new BSC graphic novel! I never read the BSC Little Sister novels growing up, but the graphic novels are so well done.
April 1st: Rebellion, 1776 by Laurie Halse Anderson
So spoiler: I have already read this! But I pre-ordered a couple copies to give as gifts anyway, because I LOVE a children’s book about the American Revolution!
May 6th: Stuck (Click GN #7) by Kayla MIller
I love Kayla Miller’s graphic novels, and I simply didn’t want to wait for my library hold to come in on this one, so I ordered it with the intention of reading ASAP and hten adding to my school library before we let out for the summer.
June 11th: Karen’s Ghost (BSC LS #11) by DK Yingst
Even when I didn’t order other books, I always ordered the BSC graphic novels. I’ve since added them all to my school library and I will plan to do the same with this one after reading it.
June 24th: Silverborn (Morrigan Crow #4) by Jessica Townsend
I’ve been waiting for this book for so long that I was actually starting to get mildly angry, hence why I’m waiting for the US release and not getting a British copy. I don’t want to jinx it, and I want to give myself time to ease into the reading. This’ll be perfect for my flight to England at the beginning of July.
August 26th: Katabasis by RF Kuang
I loved Babel, and I am trying to get back into reading adult books this year, and so I have pre-ordered this book which promises to be 720 pages of dark academia glory.
September 2nd: Skander #5 by AF Steadman
I pre-ordered a book that doesn’t even have a title yet! That’s how committed I am to this middle grade series about deadly unicorns that is going really interesting places!
September 2nd: The Hallmarked Man by Robert Galbraith
I enjoy the Cormoran Strike novels, but by book 8 I feel like we shouldn’t be at 1072 pages anymore….I’ll read it anyway, won’t I?
