April Releases

How is it already April, the fourth month of the year? There have been three entire months of book releases this year and I’m drowning in a TBR pile! That won’t stop me from picking  up the new releases this month though.

The releases I’m most excited about are DEFINITELY Alex and Eliza by Melissa de la Cruz and The Startup by Doree Shafrir. The Startup just looks fascinating (and what a cool cover!) and I have always loved Melissa de la Cruz’s books. I think I’ve read most of what she has written, including the Au Pair books, Girl Stays in the Picture (which desperately needs a sequel!!), the Blue Bloods series (which made me not hate vampire stories like Twilight did) and even the Ashley Project books. So I’m pretty excited Alex and Eliza. I love historical fiction and Hamilton is pretty cool, you know?

Some big name authors also have new books coming out this month, like Elizabeth Strout, Fredrik Blackman,  and Anita Shreve. Also, a new Mary Higgins Clark book! I loved reading her mysteries growing up.

A book that I just learned about but that has piqued by interest is Unearthly Things, which brands itself as a Jane Eyre retelling. I’ll probably try and pick it up, if only because I love retellings, even if I don’t love Jane Eyre.
