One of the Pop Sugar challenges this year that might throw you for a loop on first glance is a “book that is also on stage.” But don’t let the wording deter you. So many of the best plays/musicals of the past few decades are based on beloved books, because producers and audiences alike love intellectual property backed shows! Below are some suggestions for books turned into major plays/musicals but there are definitely more out there if you look. I know for a fact there are stage productions of To Kill a Mockingbird, Pride & Prejudice, Wuthering Heights, and 1984, because they’ve all been done in my hometown, but these are my top suggestions, because you can probably catch them touring/on Broadway/at a theater near you.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
