I can’t believe June went by so quickly, but I shouldn’t be surprised because I’m pretty sure I spent the entire month buried in a book, or listening to a book,or at the library. Oops. I was super successful with my reading this month, for once! You can read my May recap here, but in May I finished 17 books, short of my goal of 20. I overshot my goal in June and read 23 books! I also read 7 or the 12 books on my loose June TBR list, so I’m pretty proud of that. I still haven’t gotten around to Outlander yet…but we’ll see.
Here we go!

BOTM Pick: I picked the Book of Essie, and I actually read it within the month of June. I think this may actually be a first from me, and I’m super proud. Now to catch up on my other BOTM picks. My Book of Essie review will be up soon!
Favorite Book: This is always so hard. Probably The Last Time I Lied or People Like Us. I love a good murder/missing person story and both of these books delivered. Interesting female protagonists just grab me. I recommend both of these if you’re looking for a thrill. The Last Time I Lied is adult horror/thriller and People Like Us is YA!
Least Favorite Book: The Wrinkle in Time. Ugh. I read this so that I could cross “a childhood classic you never read” off my PopSugar challenge but i didn’t love it. Maybe it’s just old school and paved the way for the books I DID love but this book did nothing for me.
July Goals/TBR: Oh lordy. I have some pretty specific goals this month that you’ll read more about in an upcoming post but here’s a rough TBR with what I have in mind
- What to Read and Why
- Save the Date
- The Running Man
- From the Corner of the Oval
- Ka: Dar Oakley in the Ruin of Ymr
- Charlotte Walsh Likes to Win
- Exceptional: Why the World Needs a Powerful America
- The Visitors
- They Both Die at the End
