12 Witchy Reads

Looking for something witchy to read? It sure seems like faeries are all the rage right now, but I’m partial to the witch as a character. Maybe it’s because I grew up loving Sabrina the Teenage Witch or because faerie books are overrun with gratuitous and unrealistic sex (ACOTAR, I’m looking at you) but witches have just always been my preference if we’re going to get magical. Sure, witches are rarely confined by real rules and don’t always allow the best world-building, but they’re absolutely fascinating characters. Check out some of these books with the word “witch” in the title to get you started on your witchy reads and check back later for another list of books about witches that don’t have the word in the title!

The Bone Witch

The Black Witch

Witch of Blackbird Pond

Discovery of Witches

Witches of Eastwick

How to Hang a Witch

Truthwitch

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

Son of a Witch

The Witches of New York

The Witch Doesn’t Burn in This One

The Witch’s Daughter

What is your favorite witchy book?

I am definitely partial to a witch heroine as well. I really enjoyed the historical fiction Witch Child by Celia Rees, I would highly recommend it if you haven’t read it yet!
