A ___ of ___ and ___

Can we talk about something I’ve noticed and now can’t forget? It’s the deluge of fantasy books utilizing the title format A __ of ___ and ___. It’s the fantasy equivalent of the mystery “Girl” titles, right? Let’s take a look at some of the books that fall into this category and some that are very very close to fitting the mold.

A Court of Thorns and Roses by [Maas, Sarah J.]A Curse of Ash and Iron by [Norris, Christine]The World of Ice & Fire: The Untold History of Westeros and the Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire) by [Martin, George R. R., Garcia, Elio, Antonsson, Linda]A Breath Of Snow And Ashes (Outlander, Book 6) by [Gabaldon, Diana]

Children of Blood and Bone (Legacy of Orisha) by [Adeyemi, Tomi]Queen of Air and Darkness (The Dark Artifices Book 3) by [Clare, Cassandra]

Alternatively…but similarly…

Daughter of the Pirate King by [Levenseller, Tricia]A Kingdom of Exiles: The Outcast Fantasy Series by [Nova, S.B.]

An Assassin's Guide to Love and Treason by [Boecker, Virginia]The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue by [Lee, Mackenzi]

The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by [Lee, Mackenzi]A Lady's Guide to Etiquette and Murder (A Countess of Harleigh Mystery) by [Freeman, Dianne]

The Red Scrolls of Magic (The Eldest Curses Book 1) by [Clare, Cassandra, Chu, Wesley]The Priory of the Orange Tree by [Shannon, Samantha]

Can you think of any other books that fit this mold? Are you done with this recurring title theme or still loving these books?

Oh my gadddd, I mentioned this trend to another blogger(BookBastion) months ago! It’s annoying when 1 out of every 5 books is titled in the same format!! I hate that I get why they do it but it still gets on my nerves😣
