7 Books and Planners to Help You Budget Better

This article first appeared on Future Female Leaders

When I graduated from college and entered the real world, I quickly realized that I had no idea how to budget because I’d simply never done it before. I spent what I wanted in college, never that much, and pretty much knew I wasn’t going to go broke because I worked hard and didn’t have to pay rent, thanks to my nice dorm room. But in the real world, you have to pay rent, and for health insurance, all while planning ahead for your monthly phone payment and your plane rides home for the holidays and oh yeah, how much salary will you actually receive after taxes? These are all things you don’t learn in college, which sucks, but luckily, the real world wants to help you. On my quest to be a better budgeter, I discovered some great books and some awesome planners that helped me figure out what I do and don’t need to include in my budget and how to actually succeed at not breaking the bank each month. Whether you’re new to budgets, like me, or an old pro, you’ll be able to learn and grow with these books and planners designed to help you budget better.
