Unhoneymooners

Christina Lauren is back! I feel like I’ve been waiting forever to dive into Unhoneymooners and once I finally did, I was head over heels.

Olive is super unlucky, but that almost pays off when her twin sister, Ami, gets super duper sick at her wedding reception and asks Olive to take her place at the honeymooner in Maui. One catch–she’s going with the groom’s brother, Ethan, who she doesn’t like one bit. There’s some tension there, so say the least, and lots of back and forth arguing and assumptions. They plan to spend the entire vacation ignoring each other–but that’s impossible when they end up having to fake a new marriage to Olive’s new boss and Ethan’s ex-girlfriend who are at the exact same resort. Can these two stand each other? Will something spark? And how will they handle their siblings marriage when it’s not as picture perfect as they thought?

I always love Christina Lauren’s characters and how realistic they feel. Olive works as a science liaison for a pharma company, has a PhD and still doesn’t really have it all together. It’s kind of cool to see our heroine fail in some ways and still be likable and have us rooting for them.  And Ethan is totally swoon-worthy, even if his brother sucks. I love seeing Olive’s Hispanic family play such a big role too!

If you like beach reads, enemies-to-lovers arcs, and family drama, this is the book for you!
