6 Summer Beach Reads You Won’t Be Able to Put Down

This list first appeared on FutureFemaleLeader.com

Summer is a really special time for reading–it’s when many people find the time to actually read, and publishers put out the kind of content people want to read while they’re lounging around on vacation. These books are beach reads of two kinds: they either sell you a tantalizing thriller you can’t put down or a romance you swoon for. I’m so excited about some the fiction beach reads lined up for this summer, and I think you’ll be intrigued by what’s out there to take you to a new world while lounging on a hot beach or poolside.
Lock Every Door by Riley Sager
In this can’t-put-down thriller, a young woman moves into a fancy apartment building as an “apartment sitter” but everything is not what it seems. The buildings history haunts her and when her friend goes missing, it’s going to be up to her to fight for her life.
The Arrangement by Robyn Harding
In this social-thriller with real world basis, a young woman turns to being a sugar baby to pay her bills, but her sugar daddy gets more than he bargained for when she becomes a little too attached to him, despite his family he has no intention of leaving. A psychological thriller for sure!
The Last Book Party by Karen Dukess
A coming of age story with a strong bookish element and intriguing characters, this book is sure to draw you in and be the perfect beach read for this long summer. Plus, dressing up as literary characters? A secret literary world? Sign me up.
The Rest of the Story by Sarah Dessen
Sarah Dessen writes great YA love stories that pack a punch, and this one is no different. Emma’s off to spend the summer with her mother’s family, and it’s going to raise a lot of questions about Emma’s own life. Plus, throw in a cute boy and it’s a recipe for an interesting summer.
Red White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
In this new-adult (read: heavy romance) novel, the son of the first female president of the United States starts falling for a British prince and it’s just as amazing of a read as you can imagine. This is perfect for people who love forbidden love stories, US politics, and royal romances.
Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren
Romance readers will die for this book. Olive is unlucky, until her shellfish allergy inadvertently leads her to taking her sister’s honeymoon trip with her arch enemy…and they have to pretend to be married to keep their vacation from being thrown off course. You can imagine how that turns out.

I’m currently reading Lock Every Door (only on the third chapter) and I’m really enjoying it so far. I definitely agree it’s hard to put down 🙂

I haven’t read any of these! I’ve already got a couple of them on my TBR, but now I’ve got a couple more.
