October 2019 Releases

September was an AWESOME release month and October is shaping up to be no different.  Some beloved authors have new books hitting shelves, there are a few graphic novels I can’t wait to get my hands on, and a new Harry Potter illustrated edition is out!

Obviously, the big draw for this month is Ninth House, the adult debut of Leigh Bardugo. I’m excited to read it because it takes place at my alma mater, but I’m not sure if it’ll be a bit ‘darker’ than I’m used to or not. I’ve heard it’s got some really gross parts, but I’m intrigued, even if I never read her other books.

I am also super excited to read Look Both Ways, the new prose book by Jason Reynolds. I loved Long Way Down, and I just know this one will be good. The new graphic novel by the author of Wonder also looks like a must-read for me, along with a graphic novel debut by Alyssa Milano.

Marie Lu, Sophie Kinsella, John Grisham, Jennifer Holm, Ronan Farrow,  Rand Paul,

On the topic of books I already read, I actually enjoyed Royal Holiday by Jasmine Guillory even though I didn’t read the first three by her. It was a sweet romance with an older couple (ie, not teens and early 20s) with a little royal twist that wasn’t too far out. I also LOVED Twice in a Blue Moon by Christina Lauren, but honestly they can do no wrong. I’m getting that book for one of my Nicholas Sparks loving grandmothers for Christmas this year.

What are you looking forward to reading this month?
