Books at the Box Office: To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before

Rom Com fans fell hard for To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before on Netflix, and it did serious moves for the book trilogy, by Jenny Han. I saw the movie first (twice in one day in fact) and then binge read the trilogy. It made me FEEEEEL things and also the book is a cult classic in the YA world. It made stars out of two people who already had pretty good careers going, and now we’re getting two more movies!

From Amazon:

What if all the crushes you ever had found out how you felt about them…all at once?

Sixteen-year-old Lara Jean Song keeps her love letters in a hatbox her mother gave her. They aren’t love letters that anyone else wrote for her; these are ones she’s written. One for every boy she’s ever loved—five in all. When she writes, she pours out her heart and soul and says all the things she would never say in real life, because her letters are for her eyes only. Until the day her secret letters are mailed, and suddenly, Lara Jean’s love life goes from imaginary to out of control.

The movie was released on Netflix on August 17 2018 and stars Lana Condor, Noah Centineo, Janel Parrish, Madeleine Arthur, Israel Brossard, and John Corbett, among others.

Now…this movie though. The pocket-twist? Swoon, swoon, swoon. It takes most of book one and a few things from book 2, so you’ll have to keep tuning in to see what happens next for Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky.

This movie has so much going for it. It’s saccharine sweet and knows it. It’s got believable  teen drama (the sex tape that isn’t a sex tape). Great father-daughter dynamics, beautiful costuming. The cast is amazing, and I can’t wait to watch these movies for every Valentine’s binge for years to come.

Here’s a sneak peek at the second movie, on Netflix February 12th
