August slipped away like something…but I’m not sure it’s a bottle of wine. Wow, time passes these days, doesn’t it? I feel like I read some books I really enjoyed in August, and since I’m kind of done playing catch-up on all the upcoming September releases, I can now relax a bit!
My book of the month club pick was The Night Swim, which I’m hoping to actually read in September. I’m only going to let myself continue with BOTM in 2021 if I can get to a point where I’m caught up on all my backlist. This might be a pipe dream because I got 4 BOTM books in September…oops.
First, let’s talk about my favorite read this month: Hmm…I liked Midnight Sun a lot, haha. Like revisiting an old friend. I also really enjoyed Head Over Heels! When We Left Cuba was also a five star read–and One by One! So many to choose from.
My least favorite? Eh, none stuck out as un-enjoyable for me overall. I didn’t love Good Marriage like I thought I would, so maybe that’s the one?
Okay, let’s recap what I read this month:
- Holes
- Mind of a Conservative Woman (ARC)
- Love Without Borders (audio)
- Midnight Sun
- Art Life (graphic novel)
- Why They Marched (DAR Book Club)
- Strangers on a Train
- To Sleep in a Sea of Stars (ARC)
- Shrill
- What You Wish For (BOTM)
- When We Left Cuba
- One by One (ARC)
- Class Act (ARC, graphic novel)
- The Five People You Meet in Heaven
- Head Over Heels (BOTM)
- A Good Marriage (BOTM)
- A Deadly Education (ARC)
- Vampires Never Get Old (ARC)
- I Have Something to Tell You (ARC)
I read so many ARCs this month–but that’s because September 2020 is an INSANE publishing month. But I also read several BOTM books–and a book, like One to One, that ultimately became a BOTM pick. After I read it, LOL. It’s also possible a Deadly Education will be an October BOTM pick.
So…what am I read in September? All the freaking things, apparently. I want to make a dent in my physical TBR selection and a huge chunk of my past BOTM picks–Vanishing Half, Night Swim, Big Friendship,
I’m also hoping to FINALLY read The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, which comes out in October, as well as my ARCs of Hollowpox, Make Up Break Up, and Cobble Hill, the new Cecily von Ziegesar.
I’ve DEFINITELY got a big month ahead of me…plz pray.
