Oh look, another book on habit formation!
Frankly, I don’t even know why I try to read these books anymore–I’ve heard all that can be said, but I always like the few new ideas I pull out from here, ya know?
Badass Habits by Jen Sincero is out everywhere books are sold on December 1st, just in time to be bought for New Year’s Resolution setting.
This book just hit that spot–it’s a quick read, designed to be read over a 21 day period in which you “practice” your habit–but I read it in one afternoon because I’m reviewing it, not trying to change my life.
As a bit backstory, I liked the first You Are a Badass, hated the money one, but I like habits and productivity hacks and stuff, and this one was FINE.
Like a fine, three star read. Nothing mind-blowing. Her fan will like it, it had some funny anecdotes, and if you’re new to habit formation, you can work through this 21 day process and probably make some good progress towards your habits!
This book is super non-specific though, and Sincero talks about her “money” habit in the past, which I hated, and I wish she had followed a few people through their journey of habit formation or something, instead of being very abstract, but this is great for people new to habit formation.
