April ate me alive, went by so fast, and also I forgot it in its entirety. Putting together this list, I was like “wait, that was this month?” That’s the kind of brain blur we’re working with!
I did LOTS of reading this month–a lot of arcs, a few longass audio books, and a good chunk of graphic novels I’d been looking forward to–including the first two volumes of Heartsopper!
My big WOW of the month was A Lesson in Vengence–everything I wanted it to be and more!
I also really enjoyed the new Kasie West, Sunkissed. A summer camp kind of older teen romance with a music subplot. Very enjoyable reading!
I did NOT like the new Keira Cass, The Betrayed, or Girl A, really. Everything else was FINE, lol.
In April, I read 28 books! Which is really impressive if you consider the length of Codebreaker alone.
Here’s what I read in April 2021
- House of Sticks (ARC)
- Interior Chinatown
- Girl A (BOTM)
- Extraterrestrial: The First Sign of Intelligent Life Beyond Earth (Audio)
- Sunkissed (ARC)
- Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man (Audio)
- Seeing Ghosts (ARC)
- No One is Talking About This (ARC)
- Investigators Take the Plunge
- Heartstopper Vol 1
- Heartstopper Vol 2
- Definitely Dominguita: Knight of the Cape
- Too Small Tola
- Katie the Catsitter
- First Person Singular
- The Betrayed (ARC)
- Witches of Brooklyn
- The Code Breaker (Audio)
- So Many Beginnings (ARC)
- Infinite Country
- Superman Smashes the Klan
- A Lesson in Vengeance (ARC)
- Truly Tyler (ARC)
- Zorrie
- Chef Yasmina and the Potato Panic
- Mona
- Unsolved Case Files: Escape at 10,000 Feet
- Don’t Call it a Cult (ARC)
In May, I’m going to be making headway on my committee reads, a few ARCS from Netgalley I was so excited for four months ago, and maybe ONE previous Book of the Month pick. TBH, I think that’s all I can mentally commit to for BOTM right now. Sigh.
