5 Books I’m Excited For (January 2024)

Let’s talk about 5 books coming out this month that I’m excited for!

Escaping Mr. Rochester by L.L. McKinney

A reimagining of Jane Eyre with Mr. Rochester as a bad guy? I’m sold–and it’s YA and LGBTQ, so I know this one is going to be a good read!

One of the Good Guys by Araminta Hall

I’ve read Hall’s work before and really enjoyed her tense writing style, so I’m intrigued by this one–with a political twist, a little sociopolitical commentary, etc.

Not Quite a Ghost by Anne Ursu

Anne Ursu’s Dragomir Academy was one of my favorites of that year, so I can’t wait to get my hands on this one: a little haunted house middle grade that isn’t horror

The Heiress by Rachel Hawkins

A dead heiress, a spooky house that can’t let you go and also she was a kidnapping victim as a kid? I’m sold on this one, even though I haven’t read Hawkins’ last few books.

The Clinic by Cate Quinn

A remote rehab clinic and a sort of Nellie Bly-ness to it when the dead girls’ sister goes undercover? I’m intrigued! You know I love a place-based mystery.
