The second month of the year is OVER–wow!
This month felt so weird–like it was speedy by, but also like each day dragged, and I had a lot of rainy, lazy weekends, and I didn’t beat myself up over it. I read some REALLY good books in February, a classic I’d been meaning to finish my entire life, a lot of graphic novels, and I feel really oerwhelmed with how long my TBR still is, but we are making progress!
For my book clubs this month, I read Begin Again, Snowstorm in August, and Transcendent Kingdom. Transcendent Kingdom really blew me away—beautiful prose! It definitely makes me want to read Homegoing…but that’s a conversation for another day.
I didn’t read that many ARCs this month but I DID read the new Emily Henry, and it was as excellent as you might imagine! Gita Trelease’s sequel to Enchantee/All That Glitters was out, and I actually re-read the first one before reading the second–are you impressed?
Lots of graphic novels this month too: mostly juvenile or middle grade, but most pretty good! The Sapiens one was a lil overwhelming though, tbh. Maybe because I hadn’t read the book before? Catherine’s War made me cry like a baby. Allergic was also great!
I also read When You Trap a Tiger this month, which won the 2021 Newbery, and WOW. Blew me away! The Newbery winning books are always great (except..you know…THAT one) but wow, middle grade HITS hard doesn’t it? Give it a read ASAP–no matter your age.
Overall, I read 27 books in February, which is SO MANY considering I also spent 8 days reading War and Peace ad pretty much nothing else. Thanks graphic novels and books that were so good I didn’t want to put them down.

I’m also hoping to read Amelia Unabridged, The Heiress Gets a Duke, Untamed, Of Princes and Promises, Malibu Rising, Sunkissed (the new Kasie West), A Court of Silver Flames, Kate in Waiting, and a few graphic novels, including Plain Janes, Check Please 2, The Crossover GN, etc.
